Lead, Systems Engineer - Data Link

Responsibilities

• Support the performance, verification, and sustainment of fielded Tactical Communication systems and components
• Perform data analysis in tactical data link acquisition and processing systems
• Participate in formal engineering analysis and review performance parameters at total system and individual component levels
• Design, develop, and release related data management, processing, and reporting software tools
• Investigate and solve Tactical Communication system performance issues, including operational environment impacts
• Generate and review technical papers, calculations, and briefings for internal management teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, etc.) with minimum 9 years of relevant experience
• Or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience
• Or 13 years of prior related experience in a related engineering discipline in lieu of a degree
• Active DOD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret (TS/SCI) Security Clearance
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting Data Link systems (e.g., Link16, CMF, etc.) or other communication systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to generate technical work products

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
• Experience building and analyzing Data Link messages
• Working knowledge of Mil-Standards 3011, 6016, 6018, and 6020
• Experience writing systems and software requirements using tools like DOORS or JIRA
• Experience with software coding, development, and building test cases to assess system operation
• Familiarity with tactical datalink radios/terminals (MIDS-JTRS, JTIDS Class 2, JRE) and MIL-STD-1553B interfaces
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands and networking technologies (Security+ certification)
• Prior DoD or military experience
