About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a key technical advisor to the Chief Engineer and executive stakeholders on technology adoption and mission alignment
- Oversee system architecture, design documentation, and technical specifications using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Collaborate with analysts to research, model, and analyze defense capabilities within advanced simulation environments
- Engage in technical interchange meetings with U.S. government customers to provide expertise in multi-domain architectures
- Partner with government Product Owners within an Agile/SAFe framework to translate mission needs into technical user stories
- Analyze complex user needs to define technical paths and guide the refinement of conceptual designs into detailed specifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
- 15+ years of experience in software/systems engineering or technical architecture
- 5+ years in a principal, lead, or advisory role
- Active TS/SCI Clearance and U.S. Citizenship
- Extensive experience supporting DoD, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), or multi-domain defense environments
- Strong knowledge of modern network protocols, microservices architecture, and Zero Trust security concepts
- Experience with real-time data streaming, event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka), and modern data formats
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with simulation tools such as AFSIM to evaluate mission capabilities
- Experience deploying applications in DoD/Secure environments, including Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS)
- Familiarity with the TAK Ecosystem (TAK Server, WebTAK, ATAK) or Palantir Foundry
