Lead System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Handle L1 through L3 support tickets, including incident resolution, request fulfillment, and problem management
• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines
• Manage Windows and Linux server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO
• Perform OS patching, upgrades, and performance tuning for Windows and Linux servers
• Execute backup and restore operations using enterprise tools such as Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik
• Monitor system health, capacity, and performance to proactively address potential issues
• Participate in automation initiatives using PowerShell or Bash scripting
• Plan and execute changes following ITIL change management processes
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 3+ years of enterprise VMware and server administration experience (or an equivalent Diploma with 8+ years of experience)
• Strong technical expertise in VMware vSphere 6/7/8 (vCenter, ESXi, vMotion)
• Proficiency in Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 administration
• Proficiency in Linux server management (RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu)
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik)
• Experience with PowerShell or Bash scripting for automation
• Understanding of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator (MCSA/MCSE)
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA/RHCE)
• ITIL Foundation Certification
