Lead Surgical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support surgeons during procedures by anticipating team needs and maintaining a sterile environment
• Perform preoperative duties including panoramic x-rays, 3D scans, and anesthesia prep
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary surgical instruments and equipment
• Assist surgeons intraoperatively by passing instruments and monitoring patient vital signs
• Manage postoperative care including wound dressing and patient recovery transfer
• Mentor and train junior surgical assistants and support staff
• Maintain accurate surgical records and participate in clinical team meetings

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a surgical assistant
• Proven leadership experience
• Proficiency in surgical techniques and instruments
• Ability to stand for long periods and maintain manual dexterity
• Strong organizational and communication skills
