Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement statistical process control methods for the manufacturing of critical parts
• Work with suppliers to ensure process control plans are reflected in their manufacturing
• Run rapid sprint analysis with design engineers following production or OQC inspection failures
• Implement risk-mitigative actions and preventive measures to keep production running
• Update and implement quality control documentation based on root cause analysis
• Audit supplier compliance with quality requirements and work to close non-conformances
• Travel frequently between Auckland HQ and China

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in quality management for high-volume manufacturing
• Experience with electromechanical products preferred
• Proven ability to resolve quality issues rapidly to minimize production disruption
• Demonstrated first principles thinking and auditing skills
• High proficiency in English (written, verbal, and reading)
• Willingness to travel regularly to China (50%+ of the time)
• Ability to thrive in a self-directed, rapidly scaling environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Mandarin
• ASQ certification (e.g., CQE or CQA)
• Formal Internal Auditor Certification
