About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the Supervisor in making work assignments within the area of responsibility
- Provide instruction and on-the-job training to technicians
- Perform technically complex diagnostic and repair tasks
- Submit work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and airworthiness re-certification
- Ensure technicians use appropriate manual references and proper tools
- Monitor work quality and production schedule performance
- Assist in maintaining FAA-required records and technical data
- Monitor shop requirements and inventory to avoid production shortages
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 8 years of experience in the area of responsibility
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft structures
- Ability to use technical data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and perform repairs
- Proficiency in using air-powered hand tools and related equipment
- Ability to fabricate parts
- Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and specifications
- Certification in accordance with FAR 65 Subpart D or Subpart E
- Ability to wear a respirator per OSHA regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- A&P certification
- Repairman's certificate
- Supervisory experience
