Lead Structural Designer

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering design principles and procedures to perform intricate engineering design work
• Lead and manage design group team members to review and exchange necessary project information
• Develop plans, drawings, and 3D models while verifying all designs meet structural quality and design standards
• Prepare design drawing information, create guidelines and checklists, and mentor team members in drafting techniques
• Lead project meetings, including pipe rack and initial design meetings, and inform managers of key decisions
• Manage and file master sets, superseded drawings, and original drawings

Requirements

• Associate degree or High School diploma plus 2 years of experience as a minimum
• 18-25 years of relevant experience in structural design
• Proficiency in computer-aided drafting programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, GeoPak, NavisWorks, or S3D
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Strong ability to work independently, lead complex teams, and communicate effectively across departments
