About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily stewarding operations including dish room, trash disposal, and banquet spaces
- Monitor and control inflow of ordered materials and maintain inventory levels
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and manage stewarding staff
- Ensure compliance with food and beverage policies, health and safety regulations, and sanitation standards
- Manage loss prevention policies to reduce breakage and control costs
- Conduct monthly and quarterly inventories of kitchen supplies, china, glassware, and silverware
- Supervise sanitation standards in the kitchen, cafeteria, storage areas, and loading docks
- Train employees in food handling, sanitation procedures, and chemical usage
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in wet, hot, or humid conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months to 1 year of back of house experience
- Proficiency in Spanish
