About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide environmental and regulatory technical expertise regarding permitting, rule implementation, data management, and environmental reporting (air, GHG, water, waste, biodiversity).
  • Support environmental compliance programs across Upstream, Downstream, Midstream, Chemicals, and Technology, Projects & Execution organizations.
  • Monitor, interpret, and advise on U.S. federal, state, local, and international environmental and ESG regulations.
  • Develop and update environmental procedures, plans, and reporting systems to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Affairs and Environmental Strategy stakeholders to develop positions and identify regulatory gaps.
  • Provide training and guidance on environmental regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Lead the tracking and coordination of closing environment-related findings from corporate OE audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting.
  • 5+ years of experience within the oil & gas and/or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental laws, permitting processes, and compliance frameworks.
  • Outstanding organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in environmental audits, reporting systems, and agency interactions.
  • Strong collaboration and mentoring skills within engineering and HSE teams.
  • Proficiency in digital tools for compliance tracking and reporting (e.g., MS Office, AI tools, Power BI).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders effectively.
