Lead Solar Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits
• Perform testing including LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans
• Lead and direct 4+ field technicians on active solar farm sites
• Assign work, track progress, and ensure jobs remain on schedule
• Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) on utility-scale solar plants
• Enforce safety requirements such as OSHA and NFPA 70E on-site
• Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation
• Train and support junior technicians in the field

Requirements

• 4-5+ years of utility-scale solar experience (solar farms/ground-mount systems)
• Experience leading crews of 4+ or acting as a lead technician on-site
• Proven experience working on megawatt-scale PV systems
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills (inverters, DC systems, power electronics)
• Working knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards
• Proficiency using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other testing equipment
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50lbs
• Willingness to travel 100% for the role
