Lead Software Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning of software development tasks, including detailed design, coding, and unit, integration, and system testing.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate system-level requirements into software requirements and models with clear traceability.
• Review software system-level analyses to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, leading the deployment of mitigation actions.
• Lead code reviews to ensure alignment with requirements and industry standards.
• Monitor and review test completion, verification processes, and issue resolution for software systems.
• Track and evaluate internal team and supplier performance to ensure alignment with project plans.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in foundational Computer Science and object-oriented design/software patterns.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python within full-stack software projects.
• Experience leading projects or individuals through the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Active Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Ability to obtain SCI eligibility and successfully complete a CI Polygraph post-start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) and frameworks (Spring, Hibernate).
• Proficiency with RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB) data systems.
• Experience with Agile/SAFe practices, DevSecOps, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of middleware technologies such as Java Message Service (JMS) and WebLogic.
• Experience developing software for space-based or ground-based mission systems.
