Lead Software Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy complex, high-impact dashboards and reports across Looker, Cognos, and Jaspersoft
• Apply SRE tenets, including SLOs, SLIs, and Error Budgets, to ensure reporting ecosystem uptime and performance
• Manage the full lifecycle of BI platforms, including installation, configuration, and upgrades
• Use Terraform to maintain and scale environments across Dev, QA, and Production via Infrastructure as Code
• Orchestrate deployments and automate repetitive administrative tasks using GitHub Actions and Armada
• Monitor system health on GCP, optimizing resource allocation and performing root-cause analysis for failures
• Manage security and governance, including SSO/SAML authentication, RBAC, and data security folders
• Manage code bases for LookML and report definitions, enforcing rigorous code reviews and branching strategies

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, BI Administration, or BI Development
• Expert-level Looker and LookML development, dashboard design, and API-based administration
• Deep experience with IBM Cognos Report Studio, Framework Manager, and Content Manager maintenance
• Proficiency in JasperSoft Studio report design and Server administration
• Hands-on experience with GCP services including GCE, GCS, and IAM
• Proficiency with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Armada deployment frameworks
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with cloud data warehouses like BigQuery
• Experience implementing SRE practices, including incident management and capacity planning
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or GCP Cloud Monitoring
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Apache and Tomcat web servers
