Lead Software Engineer, Python

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver specific projects within the global program of work for the Cross Markets Strategic Index team.
• Collaborate with and influence other technology teams to deliver scalable solutions that meet user needs.
• Design, code, test, and deliver high-quality software using Python and TypeScript.
• Influence design decisions across the group to continuously improve the platform's architecture and capabilities.
• Partner with Quantitative Research, Trading, Sales, and Middle Office teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Maintain a focus on testing throughout the entire development cycle to ensure reliable and maintainable software.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• 5 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Mastery in Python, specifically regarding designing, coding, testing, and software delivery.
• Experience in developing performant, large-scale systems using object-oriented or functional programming.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and the full software development life cycle.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with business users and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in finance or investment banking, specifically within Market Risk, P&L, or financial modeling.
• Knowledge of asset classes such as Equities, FX, Credit, Rates, or Commodities.
• Familiarity with Index and Portfolio analytics.
