Lead Software Engineer, Platform

Responsibilities

• Scale Reducto’s core API and document processing pipelines for higher throughput and lower latency
• Reduce infrastructure and model-serving costs without sacrificing quality or reliability
• Improve Kubernetes/containerized deployment workflows, observability, alerting, and operational safety
• Build internal tooling, evals, and debugging workflows to help engineers find and fix failures quickly
• Partner with ML/backend engineers to optimize LLM/model-serving paths in production
• Act as a technical lead for platform/backend projects as the team grows

Requirements

• 5+ years building, hardening, and scaling production backend/platform systems
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and observability
• Strong proficiency in Python or deep expertise in another backend language
• Experience with Terraform/IaC, containerized deployments, and production debugging
• High fluency with LLM coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor
• Experience leading projects or small teams and communicating with stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building infrastructure at an early-stage or high-growth startup
• Background in AI infrastructure, model-serving, agent platforms, or high-throughput APIs
• Experience with Postgres, queues, and cloud cost optimization
• Ability to translate customer pain into platform improvements
