Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering team members in embedded software application development specifically with RUST
• Lead the adoption and deployment of RUST and associated techniques, idioms, design patterns, and tooling
• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts in software development for target hardware
• Work with cross-functional members to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software
• Lead software development in all phases of the SDLC, including requirements, design, implementation, and testing
• Investigate root causes of complex issues and implement solutions
• Develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation
• Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and repair defects
• Serve as a technical mentor and reviewer for junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or related field with 9+ years of experience
• Graduate Degree with 7+ years of experience
• 13+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience leading software development teams
• Experience with C/C++ development and object-oriented design
• Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing RUST software
• Experience developing embedded software systems
• Experience with software modeling and UML tools (e.g., IBM Rhapsody, MagicDraw, or Cameo)
• Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems
• Experience with Information Assurance and/or cryptography
• Experience with NSA Type 1 certification or DO-178 software certification
