Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software using C/C++ and C# for advanced sonar systems.
• Lead software engineering efforts, including requirements development, testing, and integration.
• Provide technical guidance to the Software Engineering Group and assign tasks to team members.
• Perform technical reviews, design analyses, and oversee software configuration management.
• Develop and document software code for both application-level and embedded systems.
• Prepare design review materials for technical audits such as SRR, PDR, and CDR.
• Manage project resources, including estimating labor and tools to meet budget and schedule commitments.
• Support the development of new technologies through IRAD efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent) with 9+ years of experience, or a Graduate Degree with 7+ years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing software in C/C++ and C#.
• 2+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• 2+ years of experience in user interface (UI) software development on Windows and Linux desktop platforms.
• 2+ years of practical project management experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux OS configuration, including kernel modifications, drivers, and U-Boot.
• Familiarity with multiple programming languages such as Verilog, Java, or Structured Text/PLC.
• Knowledge of Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
• Experience with TCP and UDP socket networking.
• Strong analytical, communication, and human-relations skills.
