Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Develop secure high-quality production code and perform code reviews
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams regarding architectural designs
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness of new technologies

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, React, or Python
• Experience with two or more: web application development, databases, Unix/Linux, distributed systems, Kafka, Kubernetes, Microservices, or Terraform
• Practical cloud native experience with AWS certification
• Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery, and CI/CD methodologies
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of AI-assisted software development tools
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IBM Netcool/OMNIbus and related products
• Experience with Cloud based AIOps applications like IBM CloudPak or ServiceNow
• Knowledge of Observability products such as SCOM, SMARTS, or IBM Tivoli
• Knowledge of automation and scripting languages like Python or Ansible
• Experience with Splunk, Oracle, or DynaTrace
