Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging
• Drive decisions regarding product design, application functionality, and technical operations
• Serve as a subject matter expert in key technical focus areas
• Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide frameworks and SDLC practices
• Influence peers and decision-makers to adopt leading-edge technologies

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification
• Proven experience leading teams of technologists and coaching them to achieve strategic goals
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE, REST APIs, and building event-driven Microservices
• Hands-on experience with Kafka streaming
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and AWS Services in public cloud infrastructure
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and application resiliency
• Working proficiency with GIT/Bitbucket, JIRA, and Maven
• Ability to solve complex design and functionality problems independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Finance domain experience, specifically within US Banking, Payments, Card Networks, or Fraud
• Experience leading Java Microservices applications on AWS/Public cloud platforms
• Experience with Aurora Postgres DB
• Professional certifications in Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) or AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
