Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging
• Drive decisions regarding product design, application functionality, and technical operations
• Serve as a subject matter expert in key technical areas to influence engineering practices
• Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide frameworks and SDLC tools

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal technical training
• Proven experience leading and coaching teams of technologists
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE, REST APIs, and building event-driven Microservices
• Hands-on experience with Kafka streaming and Spring Framework/Spring Boot
• Experience working with AWS Services in public cloud infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and application resiliency
• Proficiency with developmental toolsets including GIT/Bitbucket, JIRA, and Maven

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the US Banking & Payments industry, specifically with Card Networks or Fraud
• Experience leading Java Microservices applications on AWS/Public cloud platforms
• Experience with Aurora Postgres DB
• Professional certifications in Java (e.g., Oracle) or AWS (e.g., Solutions Architect)
