Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team to design and execute sophisticated, latency-sensitive components for the Markets Execute platform.
• Oversee end-to-end software solutions, architecture, and technical troubleshooting for mission-critical trading systems.
• Write secure, high-quality, and testable code in Java and collaborate on React APIs.
• Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Design high-performance services with a focus on reliability, observability, and resilience.
• Lead technical analysis, estimation, planning, code reviews, and incident response.
• Uphold secure-by-default practices and maintain strict risk/control standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with a focus on system design and application development.
• Expertise in Java 17+ fundamentals, including concurrency, memory management, and object-oriented design.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and partnering with business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Spring/Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, Linux, and networking/messaging concepts.
• Strong understanding of the full SDLC, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and automated testing (TDD/BDD).
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively and responsibly.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical audiences in a global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and collaborating with React teams.
• Exposure to messaging systems and market protocols such as MQ, Kafka, FIX, or Solace.
• Experience with observability stacks and resilience engineering for low-latency platforms.
• Familiarity with Python and knowledge of investment banking or financial markets.
