Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot platform services that govern open source acquisition, usage, and compliance at scale.
• Implement scalable data platforms and pipelines (batch and streaming) using technologies such as Spark, Kafka, and Airflow.
• Build event-driven and CDC-based architectures to enable near real-time data movement.
• Design distributed data systems with a focus on partitioning, sharding, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Build and operate solutions on AWS using cloud-native data services while ensuring security and cost-aware design.
• Partner with stakeholders to define data contracts, integration patterns, and operational runbooks.
• Contribute to engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, and best practices for testing and stability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training in software engineering concepts.
• Proven experience in system design, application development, and delivering operational stability for platform services.
• Strong data engineering skills, including hands-on experience with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers).
• Proficiency in automation and CI/CD methods, including designing integrations that enforce policy decisions.
• Advanced understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native services, and modern agile methodologies.
• Strong engineering hygiene regarding secure coding, peer review, observability, and incident response.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Cassandra, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with big data technologies including Spark, Scala, and HDFS.
• Experience implementing open source governance controls and license risk classification models.
• Ability to build compliance and posture dashboards that translate technical telemetry into actionable insights.
