About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead an agile team of 6 as an active developer, solving difficult technology challenges and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code using Java, Spring, Microservices, and RESTful APIs.
  • Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, and technical troubleshooting to build scalable products.
  • Expand unit testing automation and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure high documentation and testing standards.
  • Mentor engineers and lead communities of practice to drive awareness of leading-edge technologies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring-based technologies, and event-based microservices.
  • Extensive experience in Cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Proficiency with Microservices, RESTful APIs, and both Relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Hands-on experience with data streaming and messaging frameworks such as Kafka or Spark.
  • Practical understanding of container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, review, or troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing robust automation frameworks for CI/CD.
  • Proven track record leading modernization programs, such as monolith-to-microservices or cloud migrations, in regulated environments.
