Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust software solutions supporting rates trading activities
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts, traders, risk managers, and product managers
• Develop scalable, high-performance Python code for market data processing and financial calculations
• Implement risk metrics, P&L attribution frameworks, and data pipelines
• Participate in architectural decisions, code reviews, and technical design sessions
• Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Maintain and enhance existing and legacy applications

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on Python development experience
• Financial services background preferred
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, testing methodologies, and version control
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code in large, complex codebases
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams and functions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial risk platforms such as SecDB, Quartz, or Athena
• Knowledge of rates products including Swaps, Securities, Options, and Repo
• Familiarity with risk methodologies and P&L calculation frameworks
• Experience with distributed systems and real-time data processing
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience with web technologies such as React
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization
• Exposure to quantitative finance concepts and market risk measures
• Experience using agentic AI models/tools for rapid development
