Lead Software Engineer Java/Spark/AWS

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure, high-quality production code for enterprise-scale, high-volume data processing applications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
• Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy for market surveillance and data processing solutions.
• Build and maintain practical solutions within Agile and DevOps environments.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate technical ideas effectively.
• Champion best practices in coding hygiene, system architecture, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
• Advanced proficiency in Core Java and Java EE application development.
• Experience with database programming and Oracle SQL optimization.
• Strong experience with batch processing systems and Autosys for job scheduling.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, and application resiliency.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of LLMs and AI coding assistants to accelerate development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, Databricks, or Terraform.
• Experience building data pipelines using Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of financial products (Futures, Options, FX, Equities) and trade lifecycles.
• Experience with market surveillance systems for compliance monitoring.
• Proficiency with AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Windsurfer.
