Lead Software Engineer - Java

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate secure, scalable Java applications and agent-based systems using Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Execute creative software solutions and technical troubleshooting to solve complex architectural problems.
• Develop high-quality production code and conduct thorough code reviews and debugging for team members.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Lead communities of practice to drive awareness of leading-edge technologies across the Software Engineering organization.
• Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training in software engineering concepts.
• Proficiency with the Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, agile methodologies, and application resiliency.
• Practical experience with cloud-native development and software development life cycle (SDLC) automation.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, or troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with caching solutions.
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Proficiency in UNIX and scripting languages such as Shell or Perl.
• Extensive Cloud Development experience.
