Lead Software Engineer – Java Full Stack - AWM

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable Java full-stack solutions on AWS serverless to support mission-critical Private Bank Client Onboarding platforms.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of leading-edge technologies.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams in best practices for cloud-native development, microservices, micro frontend architecture, and SRE methodologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and compliance teams to translate complex wealth management requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and establish comprehensive testing strategies including unit, integration, and end-to-end frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks, such as Java, Spring, TypeScript, React/Angular, or Python.
• Practical experience building cloud-native applications using AWS serverless components.
• Experience with both Relational and NoSQL polyglot technologies.
• Strong understanding of microservices, event-based systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in agile methodologies and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Demonstrated experience in application resiliency and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Associate level AWS Certification(s).
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools and generative AI to enhance productivity and code quality.
