Lead Software Engineer - Java Backend Lead

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to solve complex problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for team members.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical applicability.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive the adoption of leading-edge technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
• Advanced proficiency in Java programming and related technologies including Spring, Hibernate, REST, Kafka, and Oracle.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery methods, and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of financial services industry IT systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with UI technologies such as AngularJS or ReactJS.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, or ElasticSearch.
