About the role
Responsibilities
- Own all technical aspects of software design and architecture for large-scale software development projects
- Lead and motivate local and distributed engineering teams through technical example and mentorship
- Drive the software technology roadmap and plan for new technology insertion
- Trade different design options against technical and business objectives to optimize platforms and standards
- Manage risk identification and mitigation strategies associated with software architecture
- Set standards for high-quality code review and analysis
- Support the Product Line business team and participate in patent and IP development processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (STEM) from an accredited institution
- 6 years of commercial aircraft software development experience
- 6 years of C++ software development experience
- 6 years of embedded software development experience
- 6 years of DO178-B/C development experience
- 6 years of software development with DEOS or similar real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Strong software design experience and proven technical leadership skills
- Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected status) due to export control laws
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Expertise in C/C++ embedded engineering within Aerospace Engineering
- Experience with Terrain Avoidance and Warning Systems (TAWS) or EGPWS
- In-depth knowledge of DO-178C and experience with FAA Stages of Involvement (SOI) audits
- Experience with STC and TSO certification documents
- AI experience and implementation of AI tools for software development
