Lead Software Engineer - Android

Responsibilities

• Execute software design, development, and technical troubleshooting for secure and scalable Android solutions.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms using Kotlin and Java.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Utilize Android frameworks and APIs including Android SDK, Jetpack libraries (LiveData, ViewModel, Room, Navigation), and Jetpack Compose.
• Use Android Studio tools such as Layout Inspector, Profiler, and Memory Analyzer for debugging and profiling.
• Proactively identify patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
• Proficiency in coding with Java and Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Android SDK, Rx Java, and Jetpack libraries.
• Strong understanding of Data Structures, Multi-Threading, and Design Patterns (MVVM, MVI, MVP, or Singleton).
• Experience with RESTful API integration and build systems like Gradle and Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and security best practices.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Espresso.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Agile development processes including daily scrums and iteration planning.
• Deep understanding of SOLID principles and architectural patterns.
• Experience managing large codebases and shared resources/libraries.
• Proven track record of creating mobile applications with over 100K downloads.
• Experience publishing applications to the Google Play Store.
