Lead Software Engineer - Android

Responsibilities

• Execute software solutions, design, and technical troubleshooting for secure and scalable Android products
• Create high-quality production code using Kotlin and Java while maintaining complex algorithms
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring all design constraints are met
• Identify and mitigate technical issues, providing input to leadership regarding approach and operational efficiencies
• Use Android frameworks and APIs including Android SDK, Rx Java, and Jetpack libraries (LiveData, ViewModel, Room, Navigation)
• Utilize Android Studio tools such as Layout Inspector, Profiler, and Memory Analyzer for debugging and profiling
• Drive continuous improvement by analyzing data sets to improve coding hygiene and system architecture

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification
• Proficiency in coding with Java and Kotlin
• Hands-on experience with Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and XML layouts
• Strong understanding of Data Structures, Type Conversions, and Multi-Threading
• Experience with architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, or MVP
• Experience with RESTful API integration
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit and Espresso

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Agile development processes including daily scrums and iteration planning
• Understanding of SOLID principles
• Experience managing large codebases and shared resources/libraries
• Proven track record of creating mobile applications with over 100K downloads
