Lead Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop a platform of services and applications on AWS
• Influence and champion engineering standards across the organization
• Lead the adoption of AI-assisted development tooling and quality gates
• Own technical decisions end-to-end, assessing tradeoffs and driving execution
• Translate business challenges into scalable software solutions
• Mentor teammates through technical direction, code reviews, and design reviews
• Participate in hiring and building a high-performing team culture

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years in a lead, staff, or senior+ capacity
• Proven track record building and operating production-grade enterprise software
• Deep understanding of application and distributed system design
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows
• Proficiency in C#/.NET, Java, Go, or comparable languages
• Experience with AWS, Docker, ECS/EKS, CI/CD, REST APIs, and relational databases
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React.js or other frontend frameworks
• Familiarity with event streaming platforms like Kafka or AWS SNS/SQS
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code
• Knowledge of Wizards of the Coast brands
