Lead Software Development Engineer (Server Side)

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and delivery of new server-side components, microservices, and web APIs for the BestX product
• Maintain and enhance applications while influencing key technology decisions
• Establish best practices, clean code standards, and design patterns
• Drive organizational change and advocate for Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD processes
• Contribute to the architecture, design, reliability, and scaling of new and existing systems

Requirements

• 8+ years of programming experience with proficiency in at least one modern language (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, or Julia)
• Strong expertise in object-oriented design and distributed (multi-tiered) systems
• Extensive experience building low-level APIs for high-volume, latency-sensitive applications
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and modern cloud-based infrastructure
• Deep understanding of multi-threading, data structures, algorithms, and messaging middleware

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge or expertise in FX, Fixed Income, Equities, or Equity Derivatives products
• Experience with KDB
• Exposure to modern JavaScript build toolchains (Node, Npm, Rush, Yarn, Webpack, Babel, or Cypress)
