Lead Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and lead a small team of software engineers
• Write production-grade backend code daily, including services, pipelines, and APIs
• Lead system design for ingestion pipelines, entity resolution, and enrichment workflows
• Own technical quality, including code reviews, architecture, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with engineering managers and product teams on technical direction
• Drive down technical debt and manage engineering resource allocation
• Use cloud technology to create robust and scalable software systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field
• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience, predominantly in Java
• Deep experience with distributed data pipelines and streaming systems like Kafka
• Strong hands-on experience with Elasticsearch or comparable search platforms
• Solid PostgreSQL or relational database expertise at scale
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Cloud infrastructure experience (GCP preferred, AWS acceptable)
• Strong system design skills in distributed systems, data modeling, and API design
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale data ingestion, transformation, or enrichment systems
• Proficiency with AI productivity tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude
• Experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD) and service-oriented architectures
