Lead Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, unit test, debug, and implement code for programs and system changes with a focus on product security.
• Assist in developing and documenting system architecture and designs, including consulting on encryption management.
• Analyze and improve the performance of infrastructure and applications impacting the AMD product life cycle.
• Collaborate with ecosystem partners to enhance security across the compute base from CPU to GPU.
• Support global business users to ensure enterprise application SLAs are met.
• Work both independently and within a collaborative global team to foster knowledge sharing and excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Systems Security, or a related field.
• Extensive software development experience in Java, .Net, C++, Python, SQL, and UNIX/Linux.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, including CPU, memory hierarchy, caches, and hardware/firmware interactions.
• Knowledge of x86 or ARM architectures and associated security or virtualization extensions.
• Deep understanding of data, client/server, and network security (firewalls, encryption, and network protocols).
• Experience with database development using PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server.
• Proficiency in web and mobile application development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with middleware such as Tomcat, JBoss, or WebSphere.
• Familiarity with industrial security standards such as TCG, DMTF, OCP NIST, FIPS, or Common Criteria.
• Working knowledge of cryptography and encryption key management.
• Experience working in cross-site and matrixed environments.
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
