About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and maintenance of the WGU Skills Library and assigned skills collections
  • Consult on the implementation of skills to develop relevant competencies, credentials, and educational pathways
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to research and incorporate best practices for skills architecture across the student lifecycle
  • Develop processes, workflows, and methodologies for the creation, review, and tracking of skills collections
  • Communicate workforce and skill data to various organizational stakeholders
  • Contribute to the acquisition and creation of tools to organize, tag, and visualize skills data

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Workforce Development, Data Analytics, or Information Science)
  • 3+ years of professional experience designing and evaluating curriculum initiatives, workforce programs, or learning systems
  • Experience in front-end instructional design and learning needs analysis
  • Experience defining learning outcomes, competencies, and assessment frameworks
  • Experience with data management, including data cleanup, updates, and maintenance
  • Experience conducting research and using data to support decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with labor market data (e.g., Lightcast, Burning Glass)
  • Experience with skills-based learning design, competency frameworks, or taxonomy development
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools or languages such as Python, SQL, or SPARQL
  • Experience in competency-based education (CBE) or workforce training program development
  • Background in applied research, learning analytics, or academic program evaluation
