Lead Shipping Associate

Responsibilities

• Lead shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate order preparation and receipt
• Review paperwork for incoming merchandise and customer orders to distribute work to the team
• Prepare inventory for shipment by banding, shrink-wrapping pallets, and attaching labels
• Process shipping orders using computerized systems and monitor order pick reports
• Load and unload trucks and oversee the work of Shippers
• Maintain warehouse inventory on racks in a neat and orderly manner
• Train and delegate tasks to junior level associates
• Track shipping errors and troubleshoot operational discrepancies

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in the area of responsibility
• Ability to lift and handle material weighing between 8-40 pounds
• Experience with inventory control and shipping documentation
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, or temperature extremes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or computerized shipping systems
• Experience in a high-volume warehouse environment
• Proven ability to train, delegate, and support junior associates
