Lead Risk Analyst

Responsibilities

• Review financial statements including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow to evaluate counterparty creditworthiness in the retail sector
• Calculate and interpret key financial ratios such as leverage, liquidity, and coverage to assess risk
• Write clear, concise credit memos with risk assessments and approval recommendations
• Determine reserve levels and set exposure limits based on financial profiles and risk tolerance
• Monitor counterparties for changes in financial health, operating metrics, or market signals
• Identify and escalate key risk indicators to the Credit Committee with supporting data
• Build and maintain monitoring frameworks and alerting mechanisms for early detection of deteriorating credit quality
• Use SQL, Python, and Snowflake to query risk data and develop dashboards in BI tools like Looker or Hex
• Collaborate with data, finance, product, and engineering teams to improve underwriting efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in credit underwriting, counterparty risk, or financial analysis
• Strong foundation in financial modeling and credit ratio analysis
• Proficiency in querying and analyzing data using SQL and Python
• Experience working with Snowflake and BI tools such as Looker or Tableau
• Demonstrated ability to make independent, data-backed underwriting decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA or CPA certification
