About the role
Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day activities of a small technician team and act as the primary interface with engineers to troubleshoot and iterate on designs.
- Lead hands-on assembly and fabrication of complex components for RF transmitters and I&C (Instrumentation and Controls) cabinets.
- Work safely with high-voltage (up to 480V) electrical systems and utilize RF and electrical test equipment to validate builds.
- Perform precision technical tasks including plumbing, wiring, and soldering.
- Train other technicians in I&C equipment commissioning and troubleshooting while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalency certificate, or higher (technical school or military training welcomed).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with hand/power tools, machine shop equipment, and technical support skills.
- Proven hands-on experience working safely with high voltage up to 480V.
- Proficiency with RF and electrical measurement/test equipment.
- Strong foundational understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in an industrial environment with hazards including high voltage, cryogenics, and strong magnets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience soldering RF components on circuit boards.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
