Lead, Retail Architecture

Responsibilities

• Lead and document retail brand standards to enable rapid scaling of Scout architecture
• Articulate core brand values through retail design and user experience criteria
• Manage interior and exterior building design, including massing, materiality, and layout
• Coordinate design and construction requirements with internal teams like IT, Security, and Retail Operations
• Manage execution and construction of retail prototypes and perform user testing
• Oversee the RFP process for A/E firms and build a network of design professionals
• Develop and manage design services and preliminary construction budgets
• Enforce design compliance and maintain project schedules and permitting
• Manage multiple projects across various jurisdictions and design teams simultaneously
• Facilitate handover of construction documents and permits to construction management teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture
• Licensed architect in good standing
• 12+ years of architecture and design experience
• Project or program management experience
• Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements
• Understanding of MEP/Structural systems and constructability
• Knowledge of AIA design agreements and contractual risk management
• Strong leadership and relationship-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail or automotive sectors
• Knowledge of sustainable design programs and LEED certification
