About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 8 technicians, including performance feedback and work prioritization
- Own build execution to ensure systems are complete, on schedule, and meet quality standards
- Upskill the team through hands-on coaching and onboarding
- Support mechanical and software engineering teams in assembly and testing of robotic systems
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, assembly instructions, and SOPs
- Maintain workshop organization and drive continuous-improvement initiatives like 5S
- Reinforce a strong culture of safety and enforce safety procedures
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly
- Prior experience leading or mentoring technicians
- Ability to interpret schematics and CAD drawings
- Experience assembling complex electromechanical systems independently
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and safety intuition
- Availability to work 5 days/week on-site in San Leandro, CA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial robot arms and end effectors
- Experience with industrial automation systems
