About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 8 technicians, including performance feedback and work prioritization
  • Own build execution to ensure systems are complete, on schedule, and meet quality standards
  • Upskill the team through hands-on coaching and onboarding
  • Support mechanical and software engineering teams in assembly and testing of robotic systems
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, assembly instructions, and SOPs
  • Maintain workshop organization and drive continuous-improvement initiatives like 5S
  • Reinforce a strong culture of safety and enforce safety procedures

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring technicians
  • Ability to interpret schematics and CAD drawings
  • Experience assembling complex electromechanical systems independently
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and safety intuition
  • Availability to work 5 days/week on-site in San Leandro, CA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial robot arms and end effectors
  • Experience with industrial automation systems
