Lead Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Supervise Public Safety Officer (PSO) personnel during events and for infrastructure security across OCVIBE properties.
• Manage the scheduling, coordination, and supervision of 24-hour security operations throughout the district.
• Oversee event security screening processes, including the operation of magnetometers and x-ray machines.
• Conduct high-visibility security patrols on foot, via vehicle, or by powered bicycle.
• Respond to and resolve incidents involving disruptive behavior, disputes, or intoxicated guests.
• Manage internal and external requests for security services and ensure appropriate notifications are made to outside agencies (police, fire) when necessary.
• Review and approve incident reports and Daily Activity Reports (DAR).
• Ensure security personnel are properly equipped, in uniform, and prepared for their assignments.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Valid California driver’s license.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform consistent walking patrols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a PSO 3 or in a Security Supervisor/Manager role.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain diplomacy under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
