About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of multiple phases for pressurant and propellant component projects, including tanks, pressure switches, filters, regulators, transducers, and valves.
- Collaborate across engineering, operational, quality, and supply chain functions to ensure successful component completion.
- Manage technical, cost, and schedule aspects of projects using Earned Value Management principles.
- Develop and implement propulsion production processes, tooling, equipment design, and material evaluation plans.
- Develop and monitor project plans consistent with overall program plans and command media.
- Brief management and support program managers in briefing customers on all facets of assigned projects.
- Travel up to 20% to suppliers and other production sites as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of relevant engineering experience, OR
- Graduate Degree with 7+ years of relevant engineering experience, OR
- 13+ years of relevant engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance.
- Proficiency with CAD software (CREO) and PLM systems (Windchill).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing application.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with government propulsion customers and prime contractors.
- Experience leading MRB meetings and mentoring junior engineers.
- Familiarity with fusion welding procedures (laser or electron-beam).
- Experience with liquid rocket engine thrusters, valves, or small hypergolic propulsion systems.
- Experience working as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL).
- Experience in failure/anomaly investigations and evaluating component environment test results.
