About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level technical planning assistance for capturing, modeling, and analyzing spatial and tabular data to optimize transportation logistics and multimodal access.
- Prepare general plans, master plans, zoning codes, and comprehensive plans with an emphasis on transportation and multimodal accommodation.
- Conduct investigations, inspections, and studies to verify site characteristics and plan for future equitable development and mobility needs.
- Create data visualizations including tables, charts, reports, models, and 3D illustrations for complex data interpretation.
- Facilitate public involvement and consensus-building meetings to support client project work and long-range planning.
- Oversee cross-functional teams, managing project budgets, task completion, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead technical writing efforts, including the preparation of technical memos, Planning Reports, and environmental documents (EAs, EIRs).
- Engage in business development and proposal writing to support company growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in the transportation planning field, including work with master plans, zoning, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in the transportation project development cycle from planning through implementation.
- Experience with discipline-specific software such as CAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong technical writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading and reviewing technical reports, impact assessments, and permit applications.
- Ability to work independently and provide leadership to junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Essential professional licensure or certification.
