About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level technical assistance and guidance for the design, development, and construction of large-scale electrical utility and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate, review, and approve electrical infrastructure design plans, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Perform complex electrical engineering work including the design of single line and three line diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layouts, and grounding grid design.
  • Review electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, short circuit studies, and protective device coordination.
  • Oversee cross-functional teams of engineers and construction professionals to execute project work, including budget tracking and technical analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and construction safety plans.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project requirements and quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering principles, practices, and infrastructure design.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical construction laws, codes, and regulations.
  • High proficiency with technical writing and discipline-specific design software such as CADD, Aspen, CAPE, ETAP, WIN IGS, Inventor, or AutoCADD electrical.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
