Lead Product Engineer – Foam

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to the seat business unit to resolve foam-related engineering and manufacturing concerns.
• Lead the design processes, including the creation and release of 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Manage program deliverables to ensure on-time gate exits and successful product launches.
• Negotiate directly with customers to resolve technical issues and align engineering activities with customer requirements.
• Lead the integration of the design development team, including trim, foam, metals, mechanisms, plastics, and comfort groups.
• Facilitate engineering best practices such as FEA, GD&T, root cause analysis, DVP, and DFMEA.
• Review cost, performance, timing, and weight against customer targets to ensure program success.
• Support early feasibility assessments on customer surface/frame packages and identify appropriate foam property selections.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years of professional experience in automotive foam or seat engineering.
• Deep knowledge of polyurethane foam design, manufacturing, and tooling.
• Expertise in seating packaging, craftsmanship, and comfort.
• Proven experience with product launches and broad engineering processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical design reviews.
