Lead Practitioner of English

Responsibilities

• Play a leading and highly visible role in improving teaching, learning, and academic success across the English Faculty
• Collaborate with the Lead Practitioner Team to realize a shared vision of excellence and high standards
• Monitor, evaluate, and review standards and provision within the subject area
• Ensure exemplary subject knowledge and behavior management within the Faculty
• Contribute to the formulation and consistent implementation of Academy policies and procedures
• Ensure high-quality Schemes of Learning and Independent Work books
• Provide accurate information regarding Faculty performance to the Governing Body

Requirements

• QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
• Proven track record of outstanding teaching practice and excellent behavior management
• Experience conducting lesson observations and providing robust feedback
• Experience in improvement planning and implementing strategies to raise student achievement
• Proven track record of excellent results at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is an advantage)
• Experience with high-quality pupil tracking and feedback practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of ongoing professional development
• Experience working with governors
• Experience working across more than one school setting
