Lead Power and Performance Attainment Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own power-constrained performance modeling, projections, and implementation target setting from pre-silicon concept to post-silicon product launch for AMD Instinct AI/ML/HPC accelerators.
• Work with business units and product architecture to define product configurations, capabilities, and P&P targets.
• Cross-functionally lead P&P attainment by collaborating with SOC architecture, System Design, IP Design, Circuit Design, Physical Design, and Software teams.
• Roll up Power/Performance readouts and present findings in executive forums to motivate cross-functional efficiency improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop team methodologies for PPA domains, including power modeling, silicon debug, and workload power analysis.

Requirements

• Background in Computer Architecture and experience in Processor or Accelerator development.
• Proven experience in Power/Performance projections, modeling, and optimization at the SoC or System level.
• Familiarity with digital logic physical design and power management techniques (e.g., clock/power gating, V-F curves, p-states, on-die voltage regulation).
• Experience with post-silicon power/performance debug and model correlation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with engineering teams, business leads, and executive management.
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of DL/ML/LLM/MoE workloads.
