Lead Plastics Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setup, calibration, and product setup including molds, fixtures, and automation
• Execute preventive maintenance on machines, molds, and inserts to ensure efficient production
• Troubleshoot machinery and production processes to maintain smooth workflow and minimize downtime
• Provide leadership and direction to operators, including training and cross-training initiatives
• Monitor production machine parameters, centerlines, and quality standards to ensure first-pass yield
• Plan and issue work assignments to maintain department schedules and meet production needs
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation in compliance with 6/S and housekeeping standards
• Document machine adjustments, mold changes, and daily work using required systems

Requirements

• Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
• One year certificate from a college or technical school, or 3-6 months of related experience/training
• Ability to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed
• Forklift License
• CPR Certificate
• Lockout / Tagout certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a plastics or thermoforming production environment
