Lead Plant Layout & Piping Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead plant layout and piping engineering activities for small to mid-sized industrial gas projects from early design through construction support.
• Coordinate internal and outsourced engineering resources focusing on plant layout, piping design, and associated deliverables.
• Develop plot plans, equipment layouts, and 3D model reviews for new facilities and revamps.
• Produce technical deliverables including drawings, MTOs, specifications, and calculations in collaboration with other disciplines.
• Facilitate design reviews (30%, 60%, 90%) and participate in P&ID reviews, HAZOPs, and HAZIDs.
• Review vendor drawings and data to ensure compliance with project requirements and integrate them into plant models.
• Support procurement, fabrication, and construction by resolving technical queries (RFIs) and providing site support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in plant layout and piping within industrial gas, LNG, refining, petrochemicals, or similar industries.
• Proficiency in Intergraph Smart 3D, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of ASME codes and related industrial regulations.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including potential extended assignments at project sites.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification with progress toward PE licensure.
• Experience supporting plant layout and piping for modularized process plants or complex industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in Microstation and SmartPlant Review.
