About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform formal pipe stress analysis for pressure, thermal, and vibration issues in accordance with ASME B31.1 and B31.3
  • Identify pipes requiring review and conduct informal weight and thermal analysis
  • Develop specifications and evaluate vendor quotes for specialty piping items such as spring cans, hoses, and expansion joints
  • Select standard and engineered pipe supports (e.g., snubbers) and communicate requirements to designers
  • Conduct piping reviews of project isometrics, supports, and specialty items prior to construction
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and quality for piping engineering work on assigned projects
  • Lead teams of engineers across multiple independent projects in a multi-office environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of piping engineering experience within the chemical and industrial industries
  • Proficiency with pipe stress analysis and finite element software, specifically Caesar II and NozzlePro
  • Strong familiarity with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 standards
  • Experience navigating 3D models using Navisworks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to travel to client sites as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with AutoCAD
